The Globe & Mail has featured Prof. Goldie Nejat’s work and ideas on how new technology can be used to help a growing population of older people to live independently in their own homes longer.

Prof. Nejat is developing robots that will help older Canadians maintain their independence at home, assist those living in remote areas and supplement care for groups of patients in residential facilities.

“The goal is not to replace human caregivers”, said Goldie Nejat. But as we continue to live longer, Canada’s health-care system is struggling to keep up with the demand for elder care.
