Robotics Institute associate director, Jessica Burgner-Kahrs, delivered a keynote address as a Distinguished Speaker at IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 40th anniversary celebration — one of the premier robotics research conferences in the world.
Burgner-Kahrs shared how continuum robots, with their joint-less, continuous structure, can navigate confined spaces, manipulate objects, and traverse curvilinear paths in ways conventional robots cannot. The talk also explored the latest advancements pushing the boundaries of what continuum robots can achieve in real-world applications from medicine to industrial settings.
